At the portal level, authorized users can securely login to access the inventory status and access detailed reports. IMS collates data from all handheld devices and provides a facility to analyse the data and derive statistical reports on sales and purchase by region, scheme and date range.
The IMS is also linked to the Farm Crop Management System (FCMS), a farmer centric application utilized by the Department of Agriculture for promoting scientific crop management. The IMS retrieves the farmer data from FCMS and links them to the actual stock sold.
The IMS portal is continuously updated to provide a real-time view of the current stock usage and statistics throughout Tamil Nadu. The main objective of this project is to get a real-time status of actual input availability information to the farmers and the department officials. This knowledge will further be used to gain a deeper understanding of the market and predict the future requirements of fertilizers, seeds etc. and aid in logistics planning.
